DIY 3D Decoden Vacation Photo Frame
I love displaying pictures of friends, family, and Chuy around my home. It reminds me of the good memories we’ve made together over the years. I feel like a house isn’t a home without photos. I recently discovered Mod Podge Collage Clay and used it to create a blingy and fun 3D decoden photo frame. Decoden is the art of decorating anything with trinkets, buttons, rhinestones, etc. Less is more doesn’t apply to decoden! I created a vacation themed frame so I could display some of our Las Vegas pics from BlogPaws.
Supplies You Need
- Vanilla Mod Podge Collage Clay
- Mod Molds (Travel/Voyage)
- Mod Melts (Glitters)
- Rhinestones
- Photo Frame
- High Temp Mini Glue Gun
You can get all of the Mod Podge products at your local Michael’s.
Note: “Collage Clay is not recommended for children ages 12 and under, and the product is not edible. Small parts are a choking hazard for children.” If you choose to show children involved in using the product, please make sure they are over 12 years old since the product is not recommended for children younger than this.”
Instructions – How to Make a 3D Photo Frame
Start out by creating a few embellishments using Mod Melts and Mod Molds. All you have to do is insert one of the Mod Melts into your hot glue gun (just like hot glue sticks) and fill in the Mod Mold. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then pop the embellishment right out of the mold. Do this as many times as you need. I love these molds because you don’t need to clean them!
Once you have all of your embellishments, lay them out around the photo frame to get an idea of how it will look.
Now it’s time to apply the Mod Podge Collage Clay. This stuff is really cool because you can add any type of trinkets or embellishments on top and it will stay in place! I used the Vanilla Collage Clay and piped it around the frame just like you would with icing.
You’ll want to quickly apply the embellishments to the Collage Clay while it’s still wet. This is the fun part!
Once you are happy with the layout, let your frame sit out overnight so that everything can dry.
Once it’s done, put your favorite vacation photo in the frame and display in your home!
